Our electric gate will be open. There are two houses on our property: drive
800 ft up the driveway
and bear right for another 600 ft to the stucco/stone house at the top of
the hill. Plenty of parking space.
(In case of heavy snow we will probably postpone the meeting to the
following Saturday, 26 November, same time.)
Eleanor will try to put together an English pub style Shepard's Pie entree.
Assorted beers / tea / coffee.
Primary purpose of meeting is to schedule one event (typically) each
month during 2012. We usually don't schedule an event for January. November
and December are pre-scheduled for the planning meeting and Christmas dinner
in 2012. Each attendee will be expected to have an event in mind that he or
she will be willing to host next year. For those who think the events the
group planned and hosted this year were not worth attending (and if you
didn't) then the meeting will give you and others opportunity to propose and
host a much better calendar of events for 2012. Be creative.....what event
would you like to host next year?
Another purpose is to appoint a Treasurer. Chuck Wiley has served as
Treasurer Pro Tem after Mike Franck's untimely death. The other officers
will remain in place for their second year as customary for RMMGTR. (This is
not written in stone; you may vote any of them out of office!)
Additional agenda items:
1. Treasurer's report.
2. Club insurance. Do we need? Currently $289/year (Hagerty, commercial
general liability policy). Should we have a new policy to protect
only directors and officers against vicarious liability claims? Current
policy treats every member as an employee of the business (Club) and
pays insured member in a successful claim for bodily injury and property
damage. Payment is "excess" to payment by other insurance the
member involved in the claim may have. The club has been buying insurance
for many years.
3. Annual dues. Currently $20/family. Approximately 50% has been used to pay
insurance premium. Part of remainder has been used to
subsidize Christmas dinner. If each club event were to be revenue neutral in
the future, including Christmas dinner, do we need to collect dues?
If we were to collect $20 dues/member in January, this $20 could be the
member's deposit for his/her Christmas dinner in December, or returned
in December if the member either does not want to attend the Christmas
dinner or decides to no longer be a member of the club.
Even if you are not interested in any of the additional agenda items I
encourage you to attend the planning meeting and help schedule club
activities for next year. If you are interested in any of agenda items but
are unable to attend the meeting, please feel free to E-mail me your
opinions and I'll add them to the opinion mix at the meeting. If we do make
changes in club policies at the meeting, I want the changes to represent the
views of the majority of the membership, not the views of only those who
were at the meeting. Also, please let me know if you are willing to host an
event but are unable to attend the meeting. I want your input and help
putting together a really good calendar for 2012.
Thanks for taking the time to review the agenda items before the meeting.
